Sapporo, as it has been aptly named is a Sushi bar located in the heart of Portland's Old Port and right on the waterfront. It is one of Five sushi restaurants in Portland and is considered one of the best. The building is a one floor building with circular architecture. It has a foyer encased in plastic and delicate flower arrangements on display inside the lobby.

If you are looking for a classic Japanese traditional feel, you have come to the right place. The sushi chefs typically wear kimono and prepare the rolls right before you should you choose to sit at the bar. There are multiple seating arrangements available including a bar, booth seating and table and chair seating and dining room. The interior is decorated with beautiful Hiogi (Japanese Fan) and paper lanterns. The dining room is not too crowded and there is room for plenty of diners.

The food is superb and there is a full sushi menu available. The fish and vegetables are fresh and you can really taste it. Sapporo also offers a full line of beer and wine including domestic beer as well as Japanese beer not forgetting the renowned Sapporo beer. The restaurant also offers a nice selection of Sake (Sah-Kay) which goes very well with any authentic dish. The food is not too pricey and is cheap compared to the typical budget when planning for a Sushi Night. All in all, enjoy yourself and have a safe and pleasant evening.
