"This is another sushi restaurant with a hibachi room. A very interesting place, not your regular sushi restaurant. They have lots of creative American type items like the "Marylin Mon-Roll" among others. A fun place that sort of specializes in these unusual, not-traditional do-dads. The food quality is farily decent, too, perhaps a bit above average." - Anonymous
"Kujaku in Stamford is very good for hibachi. Sushi is average." - 'GMF3'
"It was empty when I entered at peak dining hours and I can see why. I first went to the sushi bar to check out the fish and it was dry and crusty, and the non-Japanese itamae looked confused as he stood there looking at me. Interestingly, I was steered away from the sushi bar when I requested to sit there, now I realize why. I decided to forgo the sushi, but when the wait staff didn't even know what the different styles of sake are (junmai, ginjo, daigingo, etc.), which isn't a deal breaker, but as the drink menu touted these aspects, I was taken back when they staff didn't know what they were. Even the hibachi room was empty. Admittedly, I may not have picked the best day to go, December 26th, but I left within 4 minutes of being seated. I'll give them one more chance snd go back on a more busy evening, but after seeing the state of the fish, I'm nervous about it. I heard it used to be good, so I'm not sure if there was a change in management or something." - J.G.
Yes. It was almost empty when we were there over weekend. I was surprised. only 3 customers at the peak hours on saturday night. We tried sushi and sashimi for
stater. only a few bite, we all skipped sushi and sashimi. I am not picky. The quality of fish was not even close to average. only Edamame tasted good. I tried Hibachi
combination because I had no choice after our starter. Hibachi tasted too much salty. This means too much M.S.? A lot of asian restaurant used before. Kujaku reminded
me old story of japanese food. I did not feel good after the light Japanese food like I used to do. Service was slow, too much chatting included chef. After Kujaku, We all
decided to go to another Japanese around the corner. Kotobachi?. It was packed we waited for 20mins. We sat at sushi bar. Good food ,service,&price arrangement.
Kujaku, I do not pass my recommendation. sushi lover from Tokyo
